The rare craftwork of the Matcha grindstone mason

Working with granite stone is an art known to only a few stonemasons. It must be ensured that the fluting of the inner sides is precise enough that the tea can be correctly processed and is able to safely find its way towards the outside. For this reason, in addition to the indentations an extremely slight sloping towards the middle of the stone is also necessary.

Only true Matcha mill masters command this ancient handwork, which is only preserved by a small number of specialists.
